Getting Started with pixkit

What is pixkit?

pixkit is a suite of six browser-based image utilities. Every operation runs locally via the Canvas API — your images never leave your device.

The tools

Resize — Scale any image to exact pixel dimensions or a percentage of the original. Lock the aspect ratio to avoid distortion.

Convert — Export images as PNG, JPG, WebP, or AVIF. Control quality with a slider to balance file size and visual fidelity.

Compress — Reduce file size while keeping the same format. The live before/after comparison shows exactly how much you are saving.

Color Picker — Click any pixel on an uploaded image to sample its color. Output is available as HEX, RGB, or HSL with one-click copy.

Crop — Select a region using free-form dragging or snap to standard ratios: 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, and 3:2.

EXIF Viewer — Read the metadata embedded in a photo: camera model, lens, ISO, shutter speed, GPS coordinates, and capture date.

Privacy

Zero uploads. All processing happens in the browser. pixkit never sends your images to a server.
